This policy explains how personal data is handled by LocalizApp, the macOS app (“the App”), and by the website localizapp.dimitrigiani.com (“the Website”).
In short
- The App does not collect any personal data. It has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Your projects stay on your Mac.
- If you translate with an online service, the text goes directly from your Mac to the provider you chose, using your own API key. It never passes through us.
- The Website uses no analytics or advertising cookies of its own. It stores your cookie preferences and receives what you send us through the contact form. The embedded YouTube video sets Google’s cookies only if you accept them.

2. The App
2.1 What the App collects
Nothing. The App has no user account and contains no analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs. It does not send us any information about you, your device or your projects. The files you open (.xcstrings, .strings, .stringsdict, Xcode projects, Android strings.xml) are read and saved only on your Mac.
2.2 Translation services
Automatic translation is optional. Data leaves your Mac only when you start a translation, and only towards the service you configured with your own API key. The request goes directly from your Mac to that provider, without passing through any server of ours:
- Google Cloud Translation and DeepL: the text to translate and the source and target languages.
- OpenAI (ChatGPT) and Anthropic (Claude): the text to translate, the languages and, to improve the result, the string’s comment, the file name and the AI Context you entered for the project (app name and description, domain, tone, terminology and terms not to translate).
The provider processes this data under the terms and privacy policy you accepted when you created your API key: Google, DeepL, OpenAI, Anthropic. Some of these providers may process data outside the European Union. We recommend not including personal data in the strings you translate.
2.3 API keys, settings and AI Context
Your API keys and settings are stored locally on your Mac, inside the App’s sandboxed container. Each key is sent only to its own provider, to authenticate your requests. The AI Context of a project is saved in a file next to that project.
2.4 MCP server (optional)
The MCP server is off by default. When you turn it on, it accepts connections only from your own Mac (127.0.0.1) and cannot be reached from other devices. It lets an AI client that you installed and configured, such as Claude Desktop, read and edit the project currently open in the App. What that client does with the content, including sending it to its AI provider, is governed by the client’s and the provider’s own privacy policies.
2.5 Purchases and the App Store
LocalizApp Premium is purchased through the Mac App Store. Payment is handled entirely by Apple: we never receive your payment details or your Apple Account. The App checks your purchase status on your device through Apple’s StoreKit. Apple may provide us with aggregated, anonymous sales and usage statistics, and with crash reports from users who chose to share them with developers. 3. The Website
3.1 Hosting and server logs
The Website is hosted by Hostinger International Ltd. Like any web server, it records technical data for each request (IP address, date and time, page requested, browser type) to keep the Website secure and working. These logs are kept for a limited time by the hosting provider. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in the security and operation of the Website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). See Hostinger’s Privacy Policy.
3.2 Contact form
The support form (Contact Form 7) asks for your name, your email address and your message. They are sent to us by email and used only to answer you. Messages are not stored in the Website’s database. We keep the email for as long as needed to handle your request and any follow-up, then delete it. Legal basis: handling your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
3.3 Cookies and consent
The Website itself does not use analytics, advertising or profiling cookies; the only third-party cookies are those of the embedded YouTube video (section 3.4). The cookie banner is managed by CookieYes (CookieYes Limited, United Kingdom), which stores your choices in a technical cookie (cookieyes-consent, kept for up to 12 months) and may keep a record of the consent given, as required by law. You can change your choices at any time through the cookie settings button on the Website. See CookieYes’ Privacy Policy.
The Website also uses Yoast SEO to manage search-engine information about its pages. It does not set cookies or collect data about visitors.
3.4 Embedded YouTube video
The home page includes a video hosted on YouTube (Google). Until you accept the corresponding cookies, the video is replaced by a placeholder and YouTube’s player is not loaded. Once you accept, Google may set cookies (which the banner lists under “Functional” and “Advertisement”) and receive data such as your IP address, in accordance with Google’s Privacy Policy. You can withdraw your consent at any time through the cookie settings button.
3.5 What the Website does not do
The Website has no user accounts, no newsletter and no advertising or remarketing tools.
4. Transfers outside the EU
CookieYes is based in the United Kingdom, which the European Commission recognises as providing an adequate level of protection. Google may process data in the United States under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. For the translation services used by the App, see section 2.2.
5. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw your consent at any time. To exercise these rights, write to dimix@dimix.it. We will reply within one month. Since the App does not collect data about you, requests will normally concern messages sent through the Website. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Italy, this is the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.
6. Children
The App and the Website are tools for software developers and are not directed to children.
7. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will publish the new version on this page and update the date at the top.

Questa informativa spiega come vengono trattati i dati personali da LocalizApp, l’app per macOS (“l’App”), e dal sito localizapp.dimitrigiani.com (“il Sito”).
In breve
- L’App non raccoglie alcun dato personale. Non ha account, analytics, pubblicità o tracciamento. I tuoi progetti restano sul tuo Mac.
- Se traduci con un servizio online, il testo va direttamente dal tuo Mac al fornitore che hai scelto, con la tua chiave API. Non passa mai da noi.

2. L’App
2.1 Cosa raccoglie l’App
Niente. L’App non ha account utente e non contiene SDK di analisi, pubblicità o tracciamento. Non ci invia alcuna informazione su di te, sul tuo dispositivo o sui tuoi progetti. I file che apri (.xcstrings, .strings, .stringsdict, progetti Xcode, strings.xml di Android) vengono letti e salvati solo sul tuo Mac.
2.2 Servizi di traduzione
La traduzione automatica è facoltativa. I dati lasciano il tuo Mac solo quando avvii una traduzione, e solo verso il servizio che hai configurato con la tua chiave API. La richiesta va direttamente dal tuo Mac a quel fornitore, senza passare da alcun nostro server:
- Google Cloud Translation e DeepL: il testo da tradurre e le lingue di origine e di destinazione.
- OpenAI (ChatGPT) e Anthropic (Claude): il testo da tradurre, le lingue e, per migliorare il risultato, il commento della stringa, il nome del file e l’AI Context che hai inserito per il progetto (nome e descrizione dell’app, ambito, tono, terminologia e termini da non tradurre).
Il fornitore tratta questi dati secondo i termini e l’informativa che hai accettato quando hai creato la chiave API: Google, DeepL, OpenAI, Anthropic. Alcuni di questi fornitori possono trattare i dati fuori dall’Unione Europea. Ti consigliamo di non inserire dati personali nelle stringhe da tradurre.
2.3 Chiavi API, impostazioni e AI Context
Le chiavi API e le impostazioni sono salvate solo sul tuo Mac, nel contenitore protetto (sandbox) dell’App. Ogni chiave viene inviata solo al rispettivo fornitore, per autenticare le tue richieste. L’AI Context di un progetto è salvato in un file accanto al progetto stesso.
2.4 Server MCP (facoltativo)
Il server MCP è spento per impostazione predefinita. Quando lo attivi accetta connessioni solo dal tuo Mac (127.0.0.1) e non è raggiungibile da altri dispositivi. Permette a un client AI che hai installato e configurato tu, come Claude Desktop, di leggere e modificare il progetto aperto nell’App. Quello che il client fa con questi contenuti, compreso l’invio al suo fornitore di AI, è regolato dall’informativa del client e del fornitore.
2.5 Acquisti e App Store
LocalizApp Premium si acquista dal Mac App Store. Il pagamento è gestito interamente da Apple: non riceviamo mai i tuoi dati di pagamento né il tuo Apple Account. L’App verifica lo stato dell’acquisto sul tuo dispositivo tramite StoreKit di Apple. Apple può fornirci statistiche aggregate e anonime su vendite e utilizzo, e i rapporti sugli arresti anomali degli utenti che hanno scelto di condividerli con gli sviluppatori. 3. Il Sito
3.1 Hosting e log del server
Il Sito è ospitato da Hostinger International Ltd. Come ogni server web, registra per ogni richiesta alcuni dati tecnici (indirizzo IP, data e ora, pagina richiesta, tipo di browser) per mantenere il Sito sicuro e funzionante. Questi log sono conservati per un periodo limitato dal fornitore dell’hosting. Base giuridica: il nostro legittimo interesse alla sicurezza e al funzionamento del Sito (art. 6, par. 1, lett. f del GDPR). Vedi l’informativa sulla privacy di Hostinger.
3.2 Modulo di contatto
Il modulo di supporto (Contact Form 7) chiede nome, indirizzo email e messaggio. Ci vengono inviati via email e li usiamo solo per risponderti. I messaggi non vengono salvati nel database del Sito. Conserviamo l’email per il tempo necessario a gestire la richiesta e l’eventuale seguito, poi la cancelliamo. Base giuridica: la gestione della tua richiesta (art. 6, par. 1, lett. b del GDPR).
3.3 Cookie e consenso
Il Sito non usa cookie propri di analisi, pubblicitari o di profilazione; gli unici cookie di terze parti sono quelli del video YouTube incorporato (sezione 3.4). Il banner dei cookie è gestito da CookieYes (CookieYes Limited, Regno Unito), che memorizza le tue scelte in un cookie tecnico (cookieyes-consent, conservato fino a 12 mesi) e può conservare una registrazione del consenso prestato, come richiesto dalla legge. Puoi modificare le tue scelte in qualsiasi momento con il pulsante delle impostazioni dei cookie presente sul Sito. Vedi l’informativa sulla privacy di CookieYes.
Il Sito usa inoltre Yoast SEO per gestire le informazioni sulle pagine destinate ai motori di ricerca. Non imposta cookie e non raccoglie dati sui visitatori.
3.4 Video YouTube incorporato
La home page contiene un video ospitato su YouTube (Google). Finché non accetti i relativi cookie, al posto del video compare un segnaposto e il player di YouTube non viene caricato. Dopo il consenso, Google può impostare cookie (che il banner elenca nelle categorie “Functional” e “Advertisement”) e ricevere dati come il tuo indirizzo IP, secondo l’informativa sulla privacy di Google. Puoi revocare il consenso in qualsiasi momento con il pulsante delle impostazioni dei cookie.
3.5 Cosa il Sito non fa
Il Sito non ha account utente, newsletter, né strumenti di pubblicità o remarketing.
4. Trasferimenti fuori dall’UE
CookieYes ha sede nel Regno Unito, che la Commissione Europea riconosce come Paese con un livello di protezione adeguato. Google può trattare dati negli Stati Uniti nell’ambito dell’EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Per i servizi di traduzione usati dall’App, vedi la sezione 2.2.
5. I tuoi diritti
In base al GDPR hai diritto di accedere ai tuoi dati personali, di ottenerne la rettifica o la cancellazione, di limitarne o opporti al trattamento, alla portabilità dei dati e di revocare il consenso in qualsiasi momento. Per esercitarli scrivi a dimix@dimix.it: risponderemo entro un mese. Poiché l’App non raccoglie dati su di te, le richieste riguarderanno di norma i messaggi inviati tramite il Sito. Hai anche il diritto di proporre reclamo a un’autorità di controllo; in Italia è il Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.
6. Minori
L’App e il Sito sono strumenti per sviluppatori software e non sono rivolti ai minori.

Se questa informativa cambia, pubblicheremo la nuova versione su questa pagina e aggiorneremo la data in alto.
